On a twilight evening, I want to take a leisurely stroll along the riverside where the cool wind blows. I wish there were cheongsachorong* far away along the shore. Cheongsachorong was used by the royal descendants in the late Joseon Dynasty. It was used for wedding ceremonies in private houses. So, cheongsachorong was commonly used to mean a wedding ceremony. Strangely, I feel good when I see cheongsachorong.

Beautiful traditions can only be seen often in movies, and the brook that winds through the village flows only in childhood memories. Urbanization has taken away the cozy atmosphere of the village. In the old days, I imagine the cool bucket by the well to cool off from the heat wave, and the image of myself making a wish by the river and floating a Chinese Wish Lanterns. Wishes do not decrease, they only increase, so what should I pray for now? I couldn’t sleep last night. still confused

1 degree north latitude, close to the equator, it is hot all year round. The occasional rain shower cools the scorching heat. As the evening came and it got cooler, people gathered by the river. Two or three were sitting around watching the beautiful night of Clarke Quay. Clarke Quay is a waterfront city in Singapore. Bars are lined up along the river.

One of the top 10 clubs in the world, one of the best nightclubs in Singapore, ‘Zouk’, is here where young people want to go. Zouk means ‘party’ in Creole. In my early 30s, my first impression of Singapore was clear and clean. And it was hot. At that time, I bought a 20 dollar Italian handmade tie at the duty free shop. Not a single tie has been untied, only the color has faded a little, but I am still wearing it. With a determination to remain strong and unchanging like this!

The scenery of the waterside city is also in Osaka, the ‘City of Water’. The canal, built from the 16th century to the first half of the 18th century, played an important role in the development of Osaka as a commercial and industrial city. A crowd of people under the colorful neon lights around the canal, literally, people rushing like waves. There are many famous restaurants in Osaka, the city of ‘mukbang*’. The udon I ate at the shabby restaurant by the canal was not as impressive as I thought, but Osaka, which I had been to a few times, was so good that I wanted to go back.

*먹방(muk·bang): Eating Show, Broadcasting introducing food through SNS, etc.

Laveniche March Avenue, with the motif of the world’s waterfront street, is dazzling with the sunlight shining on the water surface during the day and colorful lights at night. The colorfully shimmering golden waterway is romantic at the same time giving a sense of alienation between the surrounding shops and apartment complexes.

The crescent-shaped boat floating on the water creates a mysterious atmosphere. It’s the ‘Moon Boat’. The long waterway where boats float is impressive. Han River Central Park is located next to Ravenice, and there is a boat house where you can ride water leisure equipment on the waterside in the park. Ravenice, located in Janggi-dong, Gimpo city, South Korea, is a shopping street formed along an artificial waterway. There are restaurants, cafes, and shopping, so it’s good for a weekend outing.

The scenery of Ravenice Street reminds me of waterfront cities around the world. The name Ravenice was born with the motif of Venice, Italy, so I hope it will continue with that long history.
