Toronto, Canada — This summer, the city of Toronto is set to become the beating heart of Hallyu, or the Korean Wave, as a series of large-scale Korean cultural events take center stage. From electrifying K-pop concerts to interactive expos and inclusive public festivals, the Korean Wave is poised to sweep across Canada’s largest metropolis like never before.
The season kicks off with a historic performance by global K-pop powerhouse Stray Kids, who will be the first international artists to perform at the newly constructed Rogers Stadium on the site of Downsview Airport in northern Toronto. Scheduled for June 29, the concert is expected to mark a milestone in Canadian music history and further highlight the global reach of Korean pop music.
Hot on their heels, BLACKPINK, the world-renowned K-pop girl group, will grace the same stage on July 22 and 23. Following in the footsteps of Stray Kids and Coldplay, BLACKPINK’s performance promises to captivate fans from around the globe with dazzling visuals, high-energy choreography, and a truly global atmosphere.
But the Hallyu fever isn’t limited to the concert stage. From August 9 to 12, the K-EXPO Canada 2025, hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), will present a comprehensive showcase of Korean pop culture, innovation, and lifestyle. Taking place at Meridian Hall and the Delta Hotel, the expo will feature live music, gaming zones, K-beauty demonstrations, tech exhibitions, Korean food sampling, and panel discussions from leaders in the content industry. It is expected to attract both fans and professionals alike.
As the summer draws to a close, the Toronto Korean Cultural Festival (K-Fest) will bring the community together for three days of free, family-friendly celebration. Held at Mel Lastman Square in North York from August 22 to 24, the festival will offer a variety of experiences—from K-pop dance battles and live music to traditional performances and vibrant food markets. Designed to be open and accessible to all, K-Fest reflects the spirit of multicultural Toronto while introducing Korean culture to new audiences.
