250 Years, One Promise
On July 3, 2026, the White House released a presidential proclamation marking the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
The proclamation presents the Declaration of Independence as more than a founding document. It describes it as a statement of timeless truths: that all people are created equal and possess God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. President Donald Trump honors the 56 signers who pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to establish a new republic.
The proclamation also looks back on America’s 250-year journey, from the Revolutionary War and westward expansion to the Civil War, industrial growth, two world wars, scientific progress, and the Moon landing.
These achievements are described as the result of the American Spirit — faith, courage, hard work, freedom, family, and national unity passed down through generations.
Looking ahead, Trump says America will defend sovereignty, restore law and order, expand prosperity, lead in artificial intelligence and quantum discovery, return Americans to the Moon, and reach Mars.
He calls this next chapter a new American Golden Age and urges Americans to celebrate July 4 by honoring the nation’s history, protecting its founding values, and giving thanks to God. The message is clear: the American story that began in 1776 is still unfolding.
