뉴저지 민권센터가(MinKwon Center) 지난 4월 28일(금) 3차 이민 서비스를 진행했습니다. 뉴저지 민권센터는 매달 한 차례씩 미리 예약을 하신 한인들과 직접 만나 이민 서비스를 무료로 제공하고 있습니다. The MinKwon Center in New Jersey held its third free immigration service on Friday, April 28th. The center provides immigration services free of charge to Koreans who make reservations in advance and meets with them once a month.

지난 2월과 3월 모두 12가정을 돕고, 이번 3차 이민 서비스에서도 김성원 프로그래 매니저(사진)와 마이클 오 이민법 전문 변호사가 5가정의 시민권 신청과 영주권 갱신 신청 등을 대행했습니다. 뉴저지 민권센터는 앞으로도 계속 달마다 한 차례씩 미리 예약을 받아 이민 서비스를 제공합니다. In February and March, the center helped a total of 12 families, and at the third immigration service, Kim Sung-won, the program manager (pictured), and Michael Oh, an immigration law specialist, assisted with citizenship and green card renewal applications for five families. The MinKwon Center will continue to offer immigration services once a month by reservation.
뉴저지 민권센터는 현재 시민권 신청, 영주권 카드 갱신, 서류미비 청년 추방유예(DACA) 신분 갱신 등 이민 서비스와 18세 이하 어린이/청소년 건강보험(패밀리플랜) 가입, 뉴저지 앵커프로그램(1) 혜택을 돕고 있습니다. 이를 통해 지난해 12월 문을 연 뒤 한인 140가정에게 상담과 서비스를 제공했습니다. The center currently provides assistance with immigration services such as citizenship applications, green card renewal, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status renewal for those with incomplete documents. They also assist with Family Plan health insurance for children and teenagers under 18, and the New Jersey Anchor Program benefits. Since opening its doors in December of last year, the MinKwon Center has provided counseling and services to 140 Korean families.
(1) 앵커(ANCHOR: Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters) 프로그램은 미국 뉴저지주에서 시행 중인 세금 감면 프로그램으로, 뉴저지주 역사상 가장 큰 규모의 프로그램 중 하나이다. 이 프로그램은 미국의 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 경제적 어려움을 겪는 사람들을 대상으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해, 연소득 15만 달러 미만의 주택소유자는 최대 1500달러의 환급금을 받을 수 있으며, 연소득 15만 달러부터 25만 달러까지는 1000달러의 환급금을 받을 수 있다. 주택을 임대해 살고 있는 세입자 가구의 경우에는 연소득이 15만 달러 이하에 한해 450달러를 받을 수 있다. 뉴저지주는 앵커 프로그램에 대한 호응이 높아서, 오는 2023~2024 회계연도에도 약 20억 달러의 예산을 배정해 같은 내용으로 프로그램을 실시할 예정이다. 따라서, 이 프로그램에 참여하고 싶은 사람들은 올 가을에 발표될 2차년도 신청 기간에 기회를 놓치지 말고 신청해야 할 것으로 보인다.
