아시안 커뮤니티 선거 참여 캠페인
지난 17일(금) 민권센터 정치력신장운동 활동가 후안지 리가 중국동포 단체 ‘한중미사랑협회’와 만나 유권자 등록 운동을 펼쳤습니다. 한중미사랑협회는 최근 민권센터가 이끄는 아태계정치력신장연맹(APA VOICE) 수련회에도 참가하는 등 앞으로 아시안 커뮤니티 선거 참여 캠페인에 함께할 계획입니다. 한인과 중국동포가 함께 커뮤니티 정치력 신장을 위해 땀흘리는 앞날을 개척합니다.
On the 17th (Friday), activist Huanji Li from the Center for Civil and Human Rights’ Political Empowerment Movement met with the Korean-Chinese organization “Korean-Chinese American Association for Friendship” to carry out a voter registration campaign. The Korean-Chinese American Association for Friendship plans to participate in future Asian community election participation campaigns, including the recent APA VOICE training camp led by the Center for Civil and Human Rights. Korean-Americans and Korean-Chinese Americans are pioneering a future of sweating together to develop community political power.
지난달 11일(토)에 열렸던 뉴저지 민권센터 지신밟기 영상을 유튜브 채널에 올렸습니다. 민권센터와 뉴욕대 풍물패 ‘누리’가 팰리세이즈파크 브로드 애비뉴 20여 업소들을 돌며 풍물놀이를 펼치고 올 한해 만복이 깃들기를 기원했습니다. 뉴저지한인회, 엘렌 박 뉴저지주 하원의원 등이 후원을 해주셨습니다. 또 후원단체로 참가한 ‘오픈포럼’에서 영상 제작을 해주셨습니다. .
The New Jersey Center for Civil and Human Rights uploaded a video of the “Jishinbalggi” event on their YouTube channel, which took place on the 11th of last month (Saturday). The Center for Civil and Human Rights and the New York University Pungmul troupe “Nuri” performed traditional drumming and wished for a prosperous year as they visited around 20 businesses on Broad Avenue in Palisades Park. The event was sponsored by the Korean American Association of New Jersey and supported by Ellen Park, a New Jersey State Assemblywoman. The video was produced by the sponsoring organization, “Open Forum.”
