One day, by chance, I overheard a tree talking to itself in a deep and dense forest. When I got back home and thought about it, I realized that it was ultimately my own soliloquy. I believe that if we listen to our own words, it becomes easier to find our path in life. ‘Soliloquy’ is a theatrical term, named because even if an actor speaks alone, the audience can hear it. As I sorted through the works to be exhibited, I realized that each and every one of them was my own soliloquy.

어느 날 깊고 깊은 숲 속에서 나무가 혼잣말을 하는 것을 우연히 엿듣게 되었는데 집에 돌아와 가만히 생각해보니 그것은 결국 저의 혼잣말이었다는 것을 알았습니다. 자신의 말에 귀를 기울이면 삶의 길을 찾기가 더 쉬워질거라고 생각합니다. ‘Soliloquy’는 연극 용어인데 배우가 혼자 대사를 하여도 관객은 그것을 들을 수 있으니 그리 이름붙였습니다. 전시할 작품들을 하나 하나 정리를 하며 곰곰이 생각해보니 이 아이들이 모두 저의 독백이었습니다. (작가노트)
