민권센터는 아태계정치력신장연맹(APA VOICE) 함께 예비선거가 실시되는 6월 27일(화)까지 가정방문, 전화걸기, 문자 보내기 등으로 수만 명의 한인과 아시안 유권자들에게 투표를 독려합니다. 이날 모임에서는 선거 참여 운동에 필요한 주요 정보를 나누고 자원봉사자들이 어떻게 활동해야 하는지를 배웠습니다.
한편 민권센터는 플러싱’ 증오범죄방지구역(Hate Free Zone)’ 캠페인과 함께 이번 선거에서 주요 이슈로 등장한 플러싱 카지노 건립 계획에 대한 공청회를 오는 6월 1일(목) 개최합니다.

NY Volunteers Educated for Primary Elections and Flushing Casino Public Hearing
Staff members and volunteers from the MinKwon Center, along with organizations such as the Parent-Child Relationship Association and the Healthcare Public Health Service Academy, participated in an educational gathering (pictured) last week for the upcoming June primary elections in New York.
The MinKwon Center, in collaboration with the Asian Pacific American Voting and Organizing to Increase Civic Engagement (APA VOICE), is actively encouraging tens of thousands of Korean and Asian American voters through activities such as home visits, phone calls, and text messages until June 27th, the day of the primary elections. During the gathering, they shared essential information for engaging in the election campaign and taught volunteers how to get involved.
Meanwhile, the MinKwon Center, in conjunction with the “Hate Free Zone” campaign in Flushing, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Flushing Casino construction, a significant issue in the upcoming elections, on June 1st (Thursday).
