Story of K-pop
“I’ve gambled my whole life.”
When the drama ‘All In’ aired, after watching episodes 1 and 2, I didn’t watch it anymore. It was so hard to wait every week.
After ‘All In’ ended, when I started watching it again, I couldn’t stop watching it. I stopped watching for over 3 days and barely slept until the end of episode 24.
The drama ‘All In’ is a SBS drama about the casino world, aired in a total of 24 episodes in 2003. The song ‘Like The First Day’ was sung by Yong-ha Park as the OST for ‘All In’.
‘Like The First Day’ also gained explosive popularity like the drama ‘All In’. Hyung-seok Kim is the composer of ‘Like The First Day’. I believe that ‘Like The First Day’ is the greatest OST, and I think Hyung-seok Kim is also a great composer. He told an episode related to the All-in OST ‘Like the First Day’ on a TV program.
“It wasn’t the song that Yong-ha Park would sing when I was offered an ‘All in’ drama OST. At first, I tried to commission Si-kyung Seong or Seung-hoon Shin. At that time, Yong-ha Park took my demo without saying anything. And he has been practicing a lot. It was impressive that he wanted to do it so passionately. I think the song found its owner well,” he recalled that time.
I also think it was good that Yong-ha Park sang ‘Like the First Day’. Si-kyung Seong and Seung-hoon Shin are both great singers, but I think Yong-ha Park’s voice suits him better in ‘Like the First Day’.
In-ha Kim, the protagonist of ‘All In’, survived the death and achieved love with Soo-hyun Min, whom he risked everything.
Yong-ha Park, who sang “Like the First Day,” committed suicide at dawn on June 30, 2010. His death is still very sad for me.
