A총영사관 – LA City College, 한국 알리기
LA총영사관(총영사 김영완)은 올해 ‘미주 한인 이민 120주년’과 ‘한·미 동맹 70주년’을 기념하여 LA City College(총장 Mary Gallagher)와 공동으로 ‘한국 알리기 시리즈(Korea Friendship Festival Series)’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
그 두 번째 행사로, 영화 ‘기생충(Parasite)’ 상영회가 오는 5월 18일 오후 7시 LA City College Soccer Field에서 개최된다(입장 6시 30분 시작). 영화 상영에 앞서 동 영화의 기술 강연(Christopher Rossiter, LACC 영화촬영과 교수)과 사회문화적 해석에 대한 강의(Seung-ah Lee, LACC 현대언어문학과 교수)가 제공될 예정이다.
금번 행사는 관람을 원하는 누구든 참여할 수 있으며, 사전등록을 한 200명에 대해서는 동 영화를 통해 알려진 라면 요리 키트 등을 제공할 계획이다. LA총영사관은 LA City College와 봄, 여름, 가을 총 3회의 행사를 개최한다.
The movie screening of “Parasite” will be held on May 18th at 7:00 PM at the LA City College Soccer Field (doors open at 6:30 PM). “Parasite” is a groundbreaking South Korean film directed by Bong Joon-ho. It has garnered widespread international acclaim and won numerous awards, including the Palme d’Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, in 2020.
The film tells a gripping story about the societal divide between two families, exploring themes of class struggle and social inequality. It combines elements of dark comedy, suspense, and social commentary, making it a thought-provoking cinematic experience.
