4월 27일 저녁, 남가주 한인 변호사 협회(KABA) 연례 만찬이 열렸다. 이번 행사는 2023년 모니카 민 회장(사진 가운데 파란색 드레스)과 사무엘 유 2024년 차기 회장(모니카 민 회장 오른쪽, 파란 줄무늬 넥타이)이 참석한 가운데 California Science Center에서 열렸으며, 김영완 LA 총영사 및 20여 명의 L.A. Superior Court 판사도 참석했다.
KABA, Annual Official Banquet and Free Legal Consultation
이번 연례 만찬에서는 공익서비스상도 수여되었다. 존 김 변호사(아시안 아메리칸 정의진흥협회), 윤이레 변호사(한미연합회), 신희영 검사(영사) (LA 총영사관) 모두 공익서비스상을 수상했다.
또한 이번 행사에서는 남가주 지역 로스쿨 학생 8명에게 장학금이 전달되었다. 이번 연례 만찬은 많은 이들의 축하와 함께 성공적으로 마무리되었다.
On the evening of April 27th, the Korean American Bar Association of Southern California (KABA) held its annual banquet at the California Science Center, attended by Monica Min, the current 2023 president of KABA (pictured in the blue dress at center stage), Samuel Yoo, the incoming 2024 president (pictured to the right of Monica Min, wearing a blue striped tie), as well as LA Consul General Young Wan Kim and more than 20 judges from the L.A. Superior Court.
At this year’s annual banquet, public service awards were also presented. John Kim, Irene Y. Lee, and Hee Young Shin were all honored with public service awards.
Furthermore, eight law students from the Southern California area were presented with scholarships during the event. The annual banquet concluded successfully with the congratulations of many attendees.

5월6일(토), 코로나로 중단 됐었던 법의 날 기념 무료 법률 상담 행사가 2019년 이후로 4년 만에 개최된다. 올해로 38번째 열리는 법의 날 기념 무료 법률 상담 행사는 남가주 한인 변호사 협회 (KABA SoCal), L.A. 센트럴 라이온스클럽, LA 총영사관이 공동 주최하고 LA법률보조재단 (LAFLA), 한미연합회 (KAC), 한인타운 청소년회관 (KYCC)이 후원한다.

- 접수 및 개별 상담: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (선착순, 사전 예약 없음)
- LA시 주거법 업데이트 세미나: 9:30-10:30 a.m. (선착순 30명 제한)
- 장소: LA법률보조재단 (LAFLA) | 1550 W. 8th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017 (8가와 유니언 남동쪽 코너)
이번 무료 법률 상담은 KABA 소속 캘리포니아 변호사들 뿐만 아니라 한국 변호사 및 검사 봉사자들도 참여하여 개별 상담을 제공할 예정이며 (당일에 시간 관계상 또는 해당 분야 전문 변호사가 없어서 상담을 못 받으신 분들에게는 도움 받으실 수 있는 기관이나 변호사 소개로 대체), 올해에는 특별히 한국국세청 로스앤젤레스 사무소의 박지상 소장도 참석하여 개별 상담을 제공할 예정이다.
현재 진행중인 케이스가 있거나 어떠한 통보/서류를 받으신 분들은 관련 서류를 모두 지참해야 원활한 상담을 받을 수 있다.
Free legal consultation event in celebration of Law Day, which was disrupted by COVID-19, will be held for the first time in four years since 2019. The 38th annual Law Day event, jointly sponsored by KABA SoCal, the L.A. Central Lions Club, and the LA Consulate General, will be supported by LAFLA, KAC, and KYCC.
- Date and Time: May 6th (Saturday), 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
- Location: LAFLA [1550 W. 8th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017 (southeast corner of 8th and Union)]
- Individual consultations and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis with no prior reservation required, and a seminar on updates to LA housing laws will be held for up to 30 participants from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
Not only California attorneys from KABA, but also Korean attorneys and volunteer prosecutors will be participating to provide individual consultations (if time is limited on the day of the event or if there is no specialized lawyer available, attendees will be referred to organizations or lawyers who can help). Additionally, Director Ji Sang Park from the Korean National Tax Service Los Angeles Office will be present to provide individual consultations.
Those who currently have ongoing legal cases or have received any notices/documents related to their cases should bring all relevant documents for a smooth consultation.
