Story of K-pop

Only four months before Yoo Jae-ha’s death, he left only one album. However, he is evaluated as a great person who left a big mark in the history of Korean popular music. His first album and posthumous work “Because I Love You” is an album that is surprisingly sophisticated and elegant even if you listen to it now.

After attending a reunion in November 1987, Yoo Jae-ha was reported to have died while riding in a vehicle driven by a drunken friend on his way home.

Yoo Jae-ha’s album was not recognized during his lifetime, but after his death, he was re-evaluated and loved by the public. In particular, for the first album, it is known that he wrote the lyrics, composed and arranged it alone.

Singer Dongryul Kim commented on his death, saying, “It means that Korean ballads have gone back 10 years musically.”
