My Nostalgic Melody in My Childhood, Astro Boy Atom
오늘은 내가 사는 신주쿠에 7080세대의 만화 영화 향수를 일으키는 명소를 가보았습니다. 어려서부터 보았던 우주소년 아톰의 탄생지 다카나노바바(高田馬場)입니다. 여기는 일본의 JR과 세부선이 있는 전철역이 있는데 열차 발차 시 아톰의 주제가가 흘러 나옵니다. 아톰의 탄생 배경과 이야기를 전합니다.
만화가 데즈카 오사무(1928-1989)의 대표작이자 1963년부터 일본 최초의 연속 TV 애니메이션으로 방영된 철완 아톰의 주제가입니다. 작품 중 주인공 아톰이 도쿄 다카다노바바에 있는 과학성에서 2003년 4월 7일에 탄생했다는 설정으로 되어 있는 것, 프로그램 제작을 맡은 애니메이션 회사 ‘테즈카 프로덕션’이 다카다노바바에 사무소를 두고 있는 것에 덧붙여서 2003년 3월 1일부터 JR 야마노테선 다카다노바바역에서 발차 멜로디로 사용되고 있습니다. 다카다노바바 니시 상가 진흥 조합 등의 요청에 따라 아톰의 탄생년을 맞이한 것을 기념하여 변경되었습니다.
멜로디의 제작은 (자) 사쿠라이 음악 공방에서, 작곡가·사쿠라이 타카히토씨가 어레인지입니다. 제작비 등 제반 비용 약 50만엔은 이 조합이 부담했다고 합니다. 원래 곡조가 경쾌해서 기차 문이 열리면 급하게 승차를 유도할 우려가 있었기 때문에 느긋한 템포로 변경했다고 합니다.
당시 도쿄 인근에서의 현지 멜로디는 JR 가마타역의 ‘가마타 행진곡’이나 JR 시나가와역의 ‘철도 창가’ 정도로 예가 적어, 당초 2개월 기간 한정으로 사용하고 있었습니다. 그러나 큰 호평을 받았기 때문에 현재도 계속 사용되고 있습니다. 이것이 ‘현지역 멜로’ 열풍의 불쏘시개 역할을 하여 오늘날 대표적인 존재가 되었습니다.
참고로, 1980년에 니혼TV 계열에서 컬러판의 「철완 아톰(애니메이션 제2작)」이 제작되었고, 또 1편째와 마찬가지로 후지TV 계열에서 2003년에 「ASTRO BOY 철완 아톰」으로서 2번째 리메이크가 방영, 2009년에는 CG영화 「ATOM」이 개봉되었습니다.
현재의 일본 로봇 공학자들 중에는 어린 시절에 ‘철완 아톰’을 보고 로봇 기술자가 된 사람도 많아, 일본 로봇 기술의 발전에는 본작이 크게 공헌했다고 합니다.
