    [hae·ji·go / eo·dun / geo·li·leul / na·hol·lo / geol·eo·ga·myeo·neun]
As I walk alone through the darkened streets at sunset
    [nun·mul·cheo·leom / jeoj·eo·deu·neun / seul·peun / i·byeol·i]
A sad farewell wet like tears
    [tteo·na·gan / geu·dae / mo·seub·eun / bich·ba·laen / sa·jin / sog·e·seo]
Your look that left, in a faded picture
    [ae·cheo·lob·ge / us·eum·jis·neun·de]
    Sadly laughing
    [geu / ji·na·chi·neun / si·gan / sog·e / u·yeon·hi]
by chance in the passing time
    [seu·chyeo·ga·deus / man·nass·deon / geu·daen]
You who I met as if passing by
    [i·jen / dol·a·ol su / eobs·neun / gil·eul / tteo·ass·ne]
Now you have left the road of no return
    [heo·jeon·ham·e / mu·neo·jin / ga·seum]
    Broken heart in emptiness

    [hui·mi·han / eo·dum·eul / ttulh·go / tteo·na·neun / sae·byeog·gi·cha·neun]
The early morning train leaving through the faint darkness
    [heo·mul·eo·jin / nae / ma·eum·eul / ham·kke / sil·eoss·ne]
It puts my broken heart together
    [nach·seol·un / geo·li·e / nae·lyeo / tto·da·si / oe·lo·wo·ji·neun]
I get off on an unfamiliar street and feel lonely again
    [al / su / eobs·neun / nae / ma·eum·i·yeo]
    My unknown heart

    [geu / ji·na·chi·neun / si·gan / sog·e / u·yeon·hi]
by chance in the passing time

Story of K-pop

How did the Five Fingers ‘Early Morning Train’ start?

The 1980s in Korea was an era of resistance and romance. For students in their teens and 20s who resisted the Chun Doo-hwan dictatorship with their whole body, music was the force that kept them alive. Before the 80’s, friends who were doing some music in high school got together and formed a group sound. As this generation enter college, the heyday of romance and resistance in the 1980s begins.

The group sound ‘Five Fingers’ was also an artist who moistened the hearts of youth in the midst of the romantic era of the 80s. Five Fingers was a rock ballad with warmth and loneliness at the same time and remained in the memory of many fans.

Five Fingers members Lee Doo-heon, Lim Hyeong-soon, Park Kang-young, and Choi Tae-wan were all of the same age in 1964. In 1984, Five Fingers left the album ‘The Sound of the Campus (1984)’ by pure amateur college students. The song ‘Disappeared Autumn’ on this album was popular in college towns, and a year later, they finally released their debut LP.

‘Early Morning Train’ was recorded in March 1985 in the debut work from which you can feel the youth of a fresh college student. Lim Hyeong-soon’s straight vocals, emotional melody, and delicate lyrics stand out.

Let’s listen to the romance of ‘Five Fingers’, which was the spearhead of the second-generation group sound in the mid-80s in Korea’s turbulent era!
