LA총영사관, 한인 교육자 네트워크 행사 개최
- 남가주지역 한인 교육리더 60여명 한자리에 –
LA총영사관(총영사 김영완)은 3월 23일(목) 5시 관저에서 한인 교육자 네트워크 행사(Korean American Education Leaders’ Networking Night)를 개최하였다.
김영완 총영사는 환영사를 통해 “한인 교육계 리더들이 자신의 경험을 공유하며 후대들을 리더십 포지션으로 이끌기 위한 네트워킹의 중요성과 미주 한인사 교육 확산에 관심을 기울여 줄 것”을 강조하였다.
동 행사에는 Poway 통합교육구의 마리나 김 펠스(Marina Kim Phelps) 교육감을 비롯하여 현직 교장, 교감, 행정가, 교육위원 60여명이 참석하였다.
Los Angeles 통합교육구 변지애(Chiea Byun-Kitayama) 교육장의 사회로 ‘멘토링, 리더십 훈련, 협업의 중요성’을 주제로 한 패널토론과 Irvine 통합교육구의 제프 김(Jeff Kim) 교육위원의 미주 한인사 강의가 있었다.
참석자들은 향후 한인 교육리더들의 협업의 기회를 활성화하기 위한 방안을 모색하자는 의견에 뜻을 모았다.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles (Consul General Kim Young-wan) held a Korean American Education Leaders’ Networking Night on March 23 at 5 p.m. at the consulate residence, bringing together over 60 Korean American education leaders in the Southern California area.
Consul General Kim Young-wan emphasized, in his welcoming remarks, the importance of networking among Korean American education leaders to share their experiences and lead future generations into leadership positions, as well as their interest in promoting Korean American education throughout the United States.
The event was attended by over 60 current principals, vice principals, administrators, and education board members, including Marina Kim Phelps, the superintendent of Poway Unified School District.
The event featured a panel discussion on the importance of mentoring, leadership training, and collaboration in education, led by Chiea Byun-Kitayama, the superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District, as well as a lecture on Korean American education in the United States by Jeff Kim, a board member of the Irvine Unified School District.
The participants agreed on the idea of exploring ways to activate collaboration opportunities for future Korean education leaders.
