The official website includes a notice regarding “Beware of Similar K-ETA Agency Sites for Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) Application!!”
As of September 1, 2021, the K-ETA system is officially implemented and incurs an application fee of KRW 10,000 (excluding credit card fees).
Only “www.k-eta.go.kr” is the official website address operated by the South Korean government. Installing the “K-ETA” smartphone application makes it even more convenient to apply.
Recently, there have been cases of agencies operating under a similar name as “K-ETA application processing sites,” charging high fees, and providing incorrect information, so please be especially cautious.

Fraud case
A Korean immigrant who is planning to visit Korea recently submitted a complaint related to the application process for an “electronic travel authorization (ETA).”
In order to apply for the ETA, the immigrant searched “South Korea ETA” in the Google search bar and accessed the first website that appeared, input personal information, and submitted the application. However, they later found out that it was not an official website operated by the South Korean government.
The immigrant suffered not only from the application fee being more than 10 times higher, but also from concerns about the leakage of personal information.

사기당한 사례
최근 한국 방문을 계획하고 있는 교민께서 “전자여행허가서” 신청관련 민원을 접수하였습니다.
전자여행 허가서 신청을 위해 인터넷 구글 검색창에서 “South Korea ETA”를 검색하고 가장 먼저 검색되는 사이트를 접속하여 개인정보 등을 입력하고 신청서를 제출하였으나, 대한민국 정부가 운영하는 공식 사이트가 아님을 나중에서야 알게 되었다는 내용이었습니다.
교민께서는 신청비용도 10배 이상 비싸서 금전적 피해를 봤지만, 무엇보다도 개인정보 유출에 대한 우려가 크다고 걱정하였습니다.
