This Holy Week, Melania and I join in prayer with Christians celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity.
고난주간은 종려주일에 예수님께서 예루살렘에 승리의 입성을 하신 사건으로 시작되어, 주님 만찬 예배(미사)로 시작되는 성목요일, 이어지는 성금요일, 그리고 성토요일 밤 부활 성야 예배로 절정을 이루는 부활 3일 전례(Paschal Triduum)로 이어집니다. 이 한 주간은 그리스도인들이 예수님의 십자가 처형을 깊이 묵상하고, 그분의 기적적인 부활을 위해 마음과 생각, 영혼을 준비하는 시간입니다. Beginning with Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and culminating in the Paschal Triduum, which begins on Holy Thursday with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, followed by Good Friday, and reaching its pinnacle in the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday night. This week is a time of reflection for Christians to memorialize Jesus’ crucifixion—and to prepare their hearts, minds, and souls for His miraculous Resurrection from the dead.

During this sacred week, we acknowledge that the glory of Easter Sunday cannot come without the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross. In His final hours on Earth, Christ willingly endured excruciating pain, torture, and execution on the cross out of a deep and abiding love for all His creation. Through His suffering, we have redemption. Through His death, we are forgiven of our sins. Through His Resurrection, we have hope of eternal life. On Easter morning, the stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and light prevails over darkness—signaling that death does not have the final word.
이번 고난주간, 저의 행정부는 학교, 군대, 직장, 병원, 정부 기관 등 모든 공적 영역에서 기독교 신앙을 수호할 것임을 다시 한 번 약속드립니다. 우리는 종교의 자유를 지키고, 생명의 존엄성을 옹호하며, 공적 영역에서 하나님의 이름을 지키는 일에 결코 흔들림이 없을 것입니다. This Holy Week, my Administration renews its promise to defend the Christian faith in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, and halls of government. We will never waver in safeguarding the right to religious liberty, upholding the dignity of life, and protecting God in our public square.
우리는 그리스도의 구속적 희생을 묵상하며, 삶의 가장 어렵고 불확실한 순간에도 드러난 주님의 사랑과 겸손, 순종을 바라봅니다. 이 한 주간, 우리는 사랑하는 미국 땅 위에 성령의 충만한 임재가 임하기를 기도합니다.
미국이 전 세계를 향한 믿음, 희망, 자유의 등불로 계속 서게 하시고, 하늘나라의 진리와 아름다움, 선함이 이 땅에서도 실현되는 미래를 우리가 이루게 되기를 기도합니다. As we focus on Christ’s redeeming sacrifice, we look to His love, humility, and obedience—even in life’s most difficult and uncertain moments. This week, we pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our beloved Nation. We pray that America will remain a beacon of faith, hope, and freedom for the entire world, and we pray to achieve a future that reflects the truth, beauty, and goodness of Christ’s eternal kingdom in Heaven.
