한영 수교 140주년 기념 UCC 공모전 시상식 개최
올해는 한국과 영국 수교 140주년이 되는 해이다. 주영국대사관은 이를 기념하기 위해 ‘내가 경험한 한국과 영국’이라는 주제의 영상 콘텐츠 공모전을 약 한 달간 진행하고, 심사 결과 공모전 우수작으로 선정된 4팀들을 초청하여 4.18(화) 대사관에서 시상식을 진행했다. This year marks the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and the UK. To commemorate this occasion, the British Embassy in Seoul held a video content competition under the theme of ‘My Experience of Korea and the UK’ for about a month. After judging the entries, the embassy invited four outstanding teams to an award ceremony held on April 18th at the embassy.
윤여철 대사는 수상자들을 축하하며, “수상자들이 다양하고 창의적인 방식으로 한국과 영국에 얽힌 자신의 경험담을 풀어낸 것이 인상 깊었다.”며, “한국과 영국의 관계가 더 가까워지는 것은 여러분과 같은 분들의 역할 덕분이라 생각한다.”고 말했다. Yoon Yeochul congratulated the winners and said, ‘I was impressed by the diverse and creative ways in which the winners shared their stories about their experiences with Korea and the UK.’ He added, ‘I believe that the closer relationship between Korea and the UK is thanks to the role played by people like you.
1등으로 선정된 김수림 외 3명의 리즈대학교 학생들은 영국 대학에서 체험할 수 있는 다양한 한국 문화를 보여주었다. 2등을 수상한 마리는 자신의 독특한 정체성을 받아들이고, 한국인으로서의 배경을 영국에서의 성공적인 커리어로 발전시킨 이야기를 영상으로 들려주었다. 3등을 수상한 니키는 영상을 통해 케이팝을 사랑하던 소녀 시절부터 시작된 한국과의 인연을 이야기했고, 베키는 런던의 한인 타운인 뉴몰든을 생생하게 소개했다. Kim Soolim, who was selected as the 1st place winner, along with three other students from Leeds University, showcased various aspects of Korean culture that can be experienced at a British university. Mari, who won 2nd place, shared her story of accepting her unique identity and developing her background as a Korean into a successful career in the UK through a video. Nikki, who won 3rd place, talked about her connection with Korea, which began when she was a young girl who loved K-pop, through a video. Vicky vividly introduced New Malden, London’s Korean town, through her video presentation.

주영국대사관은 올 한 해 영국 내 많은 사람들과 한영 수교 140주년을 함께 축하할 수 있는 다양한 행사를 계속해서 개최할 예정이라고 밝혔다. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the United Kingdom has announced that it will continue to hold various events throughout this year to celebrate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and the UK, in which many people in the UK can join in the celebration.
